America Needs You, Don’t Quit When it Get’s Tough, Get Even Tougher!
We are in a marathon as first responders. The race is long and arduous. There will be doubt from the people we serve, doubt from the people we love, and doubt from our self. That’s the hardest one to push through. Sometimes you want to quit. Quit the force, quit the profession, and sometimes we want to quit at life too. Remember that our race to survive the badge is special because it is long and arduous and because many people cannot do this work. Those who cannot do the work are apt to criticize it, which will not change. Instead, let’s dust off, stand up tall, and commit to finishing the race to life after the badge when we get to lay it to rest on the shoulders of those we brought up with us along the way.
